LaWanda – ♪♪ “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there’s just something about that name. Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim. Kings and kingdoms shall all pass away but there’s something about that name.”♪♪ O Jesus there is definitely something about your name. There is power in your name for it contains, it encompasses…everything.
How do I see you today, Lord? I see you standing in heaven in a white robe with your arms stretched out wide. The praise for you is the most unbelievably beautiful thing I have ever heard. O Lord Jesus, you deserve nothing less. And as you receive it, Lord, I can tell that somehow you acknowledge every single person who is there praising you. I have never seen or felt such love. ♪♪ “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, early in the morning, our song will rise to Thee. Only Thou are Holy. There is none beside you. God in three persons, blessed Trinity.” ♪♪ I praise you, Lord. I praise you.
Jesus – LaWanda, My dear one, My precious, precious one. I gladly, whole heartedly receive the praise of my people, even as I inhabit it. For you could not even praise Me if I were not in it in the first place. So I receive it as my due.
The thing about praise is that it is multi-faceted. It honors Me, but at the same time, you are lifted up as you praise Me. You are changed in the process of it whether you know it or not. And don’t forget, My word says that your praise has the power to shut the mouth of Satan. As then there is your favorite of late… ♪♪ “Praise is the water my enemy drowns in.” ♪♪ This is more than a catchy lyric, LaWanda. It is TRUTH.
Praise should be one of your primary weapons in defeating the enemy, so use it often. It can look many different ways but the bottom line is that you just have to open your mouth and speak it or sing it. It is effortless on your part. Remember, LaWanda, that the demonic hates Me. They hate My name. They hate praise because I am at the center of it. So use this tool, this weapon, to demolish the plans the enemy has for you. Combine it with My word and use it to destroy all he sends against you. I have not left you defenseless. Holy Spirit empowers you as you yield to Him and obey what He tells you to do. But it should always start with praise, dear one. You can never go wrong by starting the battle with praise like King Jehoshaphat did. It worked out pretty well for him, didn’t it? The spoils will be more than you can carry and you will find yourself in the Valley of Berachah, the Valley of Blessing. Start with praise, dear one, and end with praise. And I will take care of what happens in between.
Ponder these things, LaWanda, and realize the power of praise, the blessing you have had within you all along. And use it, not just in the battle but in your daily walk with Me. It’s not a bad idea to start and end with praise even when you are not in a battle. You will always find yourself in the Valley of Blessing if you do. Know that in this very moment, dear one, I receive your praise and it blesses Me.
2 Chronicles 20 tells the story of King Jehoshaphat. My favorite parts that I use in my life again and again are “…For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” Verse 12.
“You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you…” Verse 17.
“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab and Mount Sier…” Verse 22.
And finally, “And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.” Verse 29.
When we praise God and let Him fight for us, it fills us with a fear of the Lord, an awe and a reverence not only for what He has done but for who He is. And that fear of the Lord is contagious for the people around us who hear our testimonies of what He has done for us. It is a Valley of Blessing that just goes on and on.
