Linda - Good morning, Lord. I love you ... Lord it’s 4 AM and I hear hoe-down music coming from somewhere in my neighborhood. My household is still peacefully quiet, but there is rowdy noise outside.
This reminds me of my life and the way Your presence fills me with peaceful stillness and quiet, while all around me there is a loud noise and foot-stomping chaos. Thank you, Lord. I love you, Lord!
Lord, please talk to me about where I am in my walk with You. In what ways has my life had the same obstacles and difficulties as Abraham, Moses, Peter, and Paul? I definitely see the same weaknesses and fear tendencies in my life that these men dealt with. Show me what You want me to learn from their encounters with You.
Jesus - Beloved one, how do you explain eternity to one who only knows the temporal? How do you explain the universe and all of its complexities to someone who needs a map to get through their city?
How do I explain a quark to someone who has never figured out the atom? My ways and My thoughts are higher than yours. My wisdom is unsearchable and can never be exhausted. So....In My wisdom, I reveal Myself to My children, bit by bit, in small portions.
I was a god among other gods to Abram. I revealed Myself to Him slowly, over the course of his life, by My names. I went from being in Abram’s mind, one god among many, to God Almighty Maker of Heaven and Earth, to his only God, his covenant God. Like your life, bit by bit, beloved.
Like Moses, who tried to deliver by his position, then his strength, and failed, there have been times when you jumped ahead of My plan or tried to correct a situation I never called you to address. Moses became humble... over time, for he didn’t start out that way. Beloved, true humility is knowing and desiring My yoke, letting Me lead you, put My words in your mouth. It’s a growth process, beloved.... bit by bit.
Peter was not lying when He stood by the fireside and yelled, “l don’t know the man.” He knew Me only through the lens of his own wants and desires. He did not know My heart, My mission, My purpose for being on earth. Later by another fireside, I revealed to him My heart, My purpose of bringing restoration, instilling in him that My mission was now his, and this was his purpose for being on earth. All... Bit by bit.
Paul, the religious one, the enforcer of the rules, was policing everyone to take their spiritual temperature, carrying his yardstick to whack all those who didn’t measure up. He too said to Me on the Damascus road, “Who are You, Lord?” He tried to serve God, without even knowing Him. Later Paul said that all his religious rules and regulations and knowledge were dung compared to truly knowing Me. All over time ... Bit by bit, beloved.
Beloved, learn from those who have gone before you, for I left their record as examples for you. Like you, each one has obstacles in their past to overcome. Like you, each one grows as they go. Embrace the process and trust My yoke as we walk side by side, learn from Me, beloved; when you are weak, I am strong. If you stumble, I will slow down to steady you and correct your walk. When you are uncertain, follow My lead, for I Am the Way.
Linda - I love you, Lord. Thank you!
