Our Engagement Ring - Journaling by Linda Garmon
Author: Mark Virkler
For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. (2 Cor. 1:20-22)
Linda - Lord, thank you for your Word, your love-letter to me filled with promises from you. Promises that are for me right now and also promises for my future. I sit at your feet Lord, for I long to hear what you will say to me today.
Vision - I see Dennis, my husband, as he hands me a small velvet box. I open it and it contains a beautiful ring with a solitary diamond. This is my engagement ring.
Linda - Lord, talk to me about the significance of this vision.
Jesus - When Dennis gave you that engagement ring and you accepted it, that ring on your finger became the visible symbol of a promise. A symbol that set you apart, a symbol that others could see. That engagement period of time changed the way you thought and acted, for it was no longer you alone, it was you and Dennis as you talked about plans and your future together.
Beloved one, so precious to me, what I want you to see and walk in is that right now is our engagement period, for you are betrothed to Me. I declared my love for you and covered you with my royal robe of righteousness. You returned my love. The seal of my commitment was Holy Spirit. Linda, just like when Dennis placed your engagement ring on your finger and it became a part of you, Holy Spirit is on you and in you reminding you of the pledge of our love now and in the future. Your mindset changes from what you will do alone, to what will We do together, for Holy Spirit is the reminder that now you are never alone.
Linda - Lord, you are so amazing! Lord, you lavish me with your goodness. Thank you for Holy Spirit. So, what do we do today...?!
