It is so easy to focus on the imperfections in your spouse rather than the amazing God-given gifts which cause you as a team to be strong. Whatever you gaze upon creates your reality. If I want an amazing marriage, I need to focus on the gifts in my spouse. So here are two questions you can ask the Lord: Lord, would you show me all the gifts my spouse brings into my life so I can honor and appreciate and love my spouse properly? Lord, would you paint a picture of the full destruction my lack of gratitude for my spouse will bring to my life?
Below are the answers God gave to one married man
Lord, would you show me all the gifts my wife brings into my life so I can honor and appreciate and love her properly?
I see the day you both stood on the altar before Me. I see it and I blessed it and I was in it and I am still in it. You have doubted My hand and My provision because your eyes were on the wrong things. They were not on the strengths but on the weaknesses. They were on the what if’s and the lacks instead of being on the promise before you and the beauty of My gift to you. I specifically chose you two to walk together.
Your wife is a jewel. A rare gem prepared for you, son. I saw the weaknesses and strengths in both of you and saw a perfect match where one would complement the other. Let go of all the what if’s and other possibilities. Let them go for good. Dwell on My gift to you.
Your wife is one that deeply loves you and has your back. She is a faithful friend. I have given her a quiet strength and a solid character. You have been through much together and if it was with another, your marriage would not be standing today.
I put that song in your heart that you made and sang for her on your wedding day. I knew the attacks that would come your way and I have ordained this union from that very day. You called the song…"You are the one!" Very fitting, son. She is the one for you and you are the one for her. Believe that. Accept that. Keep before you that day as you both stood before Me and made a covenant with each other. I sealed it and blessed every word that you said and sang.
Your wife is a giver. She is a server. She loves to lavish love and to show that love with acts of kindness. She is content with being the unnoticed one while I have you more as the “noticed” one. She is your backbone and without her you would not be standing today where I have you. I have called you to be the leader and have called you to be the one that would encourage her on and to be her greatest cheerleader. Bless her. Love her. Cherish her. Cover her.
She praises you and covers you and blesses you to your children and your grandchildren. Do not take for granted such a blessing. Do not forget to lift up your heart and hands daily in thanksgiving for such a valuable gift and blessing. Forsake all others and cling to the wife of your youth and rejoice in My gift to you and to her.
Lord, would you paint me a picture of the full destruction wandering eyes and lack of gratitude will bring to my life?
You have already tasted to some measure the destruction of wandering eyes and the effects of the lack of gratitude. Picture yourself excited as you buy a perfectly selected gift for one of your children or your wife. You spent so much time and have so much invested in it, and yet it was not appreciated and valued at all. That would be hurtful and so disappointing. I feel the same way when you have not valued and appreciated the gift I had prepared for you, when you at times so easily discard what I have given, your heart and eyes go after the forbidden, the sin that so easily besets you. Left to your wandering eyes and ungratefulness, your life would be one of utter darkness and of being alone. You are very aware how slippery of a slope that this sin is and that you could very well be in jail or even dead if it were not for My faithfulness.
Picture now a man living on the streets with nothing but clothes on his back and a few items. Totally without and left destitute and empty. That is you without Me. You are not a beggar or a poor man, you are My son and a prince. I have a destiny for your life and the enemy of you soul attempts to bring My plan to nothing and his plan into play. You are one that I have made to be a leader and people come and are attracted to you because of Me. Without Me in your life, you would have nothing. No one would desire your life or want to follow you. It’s just you and you alone. Is this what you want, son?
No, Lord. No. I desire You. I desire to walk with You all the days of my life and to be transformed into Your likeness. I declare this day that it is You that I want.
I know, son. I know. I have given you that heart. That did not come from you, but it is what I have placed within you. Continue to choose Me everyday. Continue to see Me everyday and what I have for you. I have so much more to give and for you to experience.
